Kent County Scaffolding Ltd were honored to be awarded and entrusted with the contract of scaffolding the south transept and Norman tower of Kents most prestigious building, Canterbury Cathedral. A great amount of care and planning was required when erecting the scaffold due to the ageing, crumbling stonework and associated restrictions of working on a building of such significant historical value.
KCS work closely alongside the cathedral works department every step of the way to ensure that every detail was covered, such as the need to bridge over the south Oculus window leaving it fully exposed and thus allowing the constant monitoring without restriction that this magnificent window requires.

Below is taken from the letter we received from the Cathedral Works Department showing their appreciation.
Dear Paul
"Just wanted to write to you to thank you for the excellent job your company has done for us here at the Cathedral, especially John O'Reilly and his crew who continuously demonstrated their understanding of the complexities associated with working on a building of significant historical interest. When I first went on the finished scaffolding I was amazed at how little of the flaky stonework had been disturbed, in fact there was virtually no evidence of any damage at all.
Further more your attention to ensuring that we as the client were satisfied both during the work and after was greatly appreciated."
With kind regards
William Roe BEng (Hons) CEng MICE AMPM
